History of Department

The Department of Economic Cybernetics is a part of Accounting and Economics Faculty. It was founded in 2002 according to the order № 66-оd of 30.08.2002. During the period of its formation it was headed by candidate of economic sciences, docent A. Ye. Zhmurkevych. From the very beginning the academic staff of the Department numbered 14 persons including the candidates of economic sciences Valdrat O.L., Chmeruk H.H., candidates of physical and mathematical sciences Krasnyuk P.P., Myshchyshyn O.Ya., Yurynets R.V., Mandzyk Yu.I., candidates of technical sciences Chapovska R.B. and others. The number of subjects was not more than 10. Those subjects were “Econometry”, “Informational Systems and Technologies”, “Informatics and Computer Technics”, “Computer Graphics”, etc. There were day-time and extra-mural forms of education. A little later the staff of the department was enlarged by other teachers (candidates of economic sciences Orlovska A.B., Zhumik O.V., Melnyk B.K., Stadnyk Yu.A., candidate of technical sciences Makar V.M.). The number of department’s subjects increases.

Nowadays the department is headed by doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor Andriyevskiy B.V. and assistant professor Zhmurkevych A. Ye. Educational process and scientific-research work are performed by professorial and teaching staff of the depertment consisting of 2 professors, 11 candidates of sciences, docents and 6 teachers. They are engaged in teaching 46 subjects at day-time (Accounting and Economics and Finance) and extra-mural faculties. Eight computer laboratories are attached to the Department of Economic Cybernetics. All the classes are conducted with the aid of modern computer equipment. The department cooperates with the Faculty of Post-Diploma and Preparatory Education. 

The academic staff of the department works at doctor and candidate dissertations. They also take part in scientific and methodical seminars and conferences. More than 200 diploma papers were written under the supervision of the docents and teachers of the department.
