The Accounting and Audit Department

The Accounting and Audit Department (founded in 1996) is one of the leading departments of LSAF in training highly qualified specialists of the education qualificational levels of a bachelor, a specialist and a master in the speciality “Accounting and Audit” at full-time and extra mural departments. Since 1999 the department is headed by the candidate of sciences, professor Yevgen Mykolajovych Romaniv, academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, honoured worker of the State Control and Inspection Service. |

Today the educational process is provided by two professors, doctors of economic sciences, two professors, candidates of economic sciences, eight senior teachers, three assistants, two laboratory assistants.
During the ten years of functioning the Accounting and Audit Department became one of the most popular departments at the Accounting and Economic Faculty. Many teachers of this department held main posts at the dean” office, took part in the organization of international scientific practical conferences that were held at the academy. They help financial institutions and the bodies of the Control and Inspection Service.
The department has special merits among the students of the Accounting and Economic Faculty as well as among the other students of the Academy.

“Judicial Accounting Examination (Investigation)”,
“State Financial Control”,
“History of Accounting”.
Scientific and research work at the department is held under the topic “The Condition and Ways of Improving of Accounting, Analysis and Audit at Enterprises of different forms of ownership”.
Scientific researches of post graduates and teachers of the department are realized in the directions of improving of progressive forms of accounting at enterprises and problems of accounting policy, theoretical researches of the basis of accounting and its computerization, defining methodological problems of financial and taxation accounting in the market economy system, calculation and analytical researches of financial accounting and the importance of national and international standards in the system of accounting.
The department has a significant progress in this field. The results of scientific work of the department consist in the edition of manuals, monographs, synopses (summaries) of lectures, books of problems, etc.
The success of the department is primarily determined by the high professional level of the teachers as well as the moral atmosphere prevailing at the department.
The teachers constantly work at the perfection of their professional and scientific level. Their articles may be found in scientific and specializing editions of the professional subject. They introduce concrete suggestions concerning improving the system of accounting, control and audit.
There is a students” scientific circle at the department. Its members are active participants of the yearly scientific conferences and competitions which are held at the universities of Lviv as well as of other cities. Besides under the supervision of the teachers of the department the students take part in the contests of scientific researches, all-Ukrainian competitions, international scientific students” conferences organized by Ukrainian universities.
At the department there is a scientific methodical room which provides the students with the possibility to give informational help in learning specializing disciplines in the speciality and in writing their diploma and master qualification papers.
